Job Overview Peer 1 on 1 is seeking an experienced and creative Inclusive Creative Arts Instructor to lead our Sunday Creative Art & Social Studio in Irvine, CA. This is a part-time teaching position working with a diverse group of children, including both neurotypical and neurodiverse children . The instructor will design and lead hands-on creative activities while creating an inclusive, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, create, communicate, and build social connections.

Irvine, CA Pay:
$40-$50/hour, depending on experience and qualifications Duties Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate creative art and craft activities for children ages 6+ Lead hands-on activities such as Play-Doh/clay, origami, painting, collage, face-mask art, wooden crafts, lantern making, and seasonal projects Teach a mixed group of neurotypical and neurodiverse children, creating an inclusive environment where all children learn, create, and interact together. Adapt activities and instructions when individual children need additional support Encourage creativity, communication, cooperation, and positive social interaction Create an inclusive classroom where neurotypical and neurodiverse children participate together Lead and coordinate high-school volunteers during class Assign volunteers to individual children or small groups Provide guidance to volunteers on how to appropriately support children Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment Communicate effectively with program staff, volunteers, and families Prepare materials and ensure activities are ready for each session
Experience Required:
2+ years of experience working with children Experience teaching or leading children's art, crafts, enrichment, camp, recreation, or similar programs Ability to independently design and lead creative activities Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work with children with different abilities and learning styles Experience or confidence leading assistants or volunteers Reliable, patient, creative, and collaborative
Preferred:
Experience working with neurodiverse children, including children with autism or developmental disabilities Experience in inclusive education, special education, children's camps, or youth enrichment programs Background in art education, education, child development, psychology, occupational therapy, or a related field Special-needs experience is strongly preferred but not required.
