In this role, you will inspire students of all ages to develop their physical skills, confidence, and cultural appreciation through engaging Capoeira sessions. Your enthusiasm and expertise will foster a positive learning environment where students can thrive, improve their fitness, and embrace the art form's rich traditions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to share your love of martial arts and movement with a diverse community. Duties Design and deliver engaging Capoeira classes tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced students Demonstrate and teach fundamental Capoeira movements, kicks, spins, acrobatics, and musical rhythms Incorporate elements of martial arts such as Judo, Karate, or other combat sports to enhance technique and discipline Foster a supportive environment that encourages teamwork, behavior management, and respect among participants Adapt instruction for children and adults, ensuring safety and effective learning for all age groups Lead warm-up exercises, stretching routines, and cool-down sessions to prevent injuries Promote cultural awareness by sharing the history and traditions of Capoeira during classes Experience Proven experience teaching martial arts such as Karate, Judo, or other combat sports with a focus on physical education or sports coaching Prior experience leading group fitness or movement classes in a health club or gym setting Background working with children or students in educational or childcare environments Knowledge of swimming, climbing, cheerleading, basketball or other sports that require agility and coordination is a plus Familiarity with behavior management techniques to maintain a positive class atmosphere Lifeguard experience is advantageous but not required; strong emphasis on safety protocols during physical activities Certification in teaching physical education or related disciplines is preferred Join us as a Capoeira Instructor and bring vibrant energy to our community!
