Job Description
Assistant Gymnastics Coach (Part-Time) Join Our Growing Team! Flip Groove Play is a growing mobile gymnastics company that partners with local schools to provide fun, engaging after-school gymnastics programs. We are looking for an energetic, dependable, and positive Assistant Gymnastics Coach to join our team and grow with us. This is more than just an assistant coaching position it's an opportunity to develop your skills and advance into a Head Coach role as our company continues to expand. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, passionate about working with children, and excited to be part of a company that is still growing. As an Assistant Coach, you will travel to different school locations and work alongside the Head Coach to create a safe, encouraging, and exciting environment where children can build confidence while learning the fundamentals of gymnastics. This is a part-time 1099 independent contractor position during the school year, with the potential for additional hours and summer camp opportunities as our programs continue to grow. Schedule Part-time (approximately 3 days per week) Typical hours: 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM Position follows the local school calendar Additional hours may be available for school events and summer camps Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in leading fun, structured gymnastics classes at various school locations. Help children learn basic gymnastics skills while encouraging confidence, teamwork, and physical activity. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by closely supervising children throughout class. Spot children during gymnastics activities when needed. Assist with setting up and breaking down gymnastics equipment before and after each class. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe class environment. Encourage positive behavior while helping children stay engaged and excited throughout class. Build positive relationships with students, parents, school staff, and fellow coaches. Travel to different school locations as assigned. Qualifications Experience working with children is preferred (gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, preschool, education, summer camps, sports, or childcare). Gymnastics experience is a plus but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Positive attitude with a passion for working with children. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow directions and assist the Head Coach during classes. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to different schools within the Jacksonville area. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain after hire. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to successfully pass a Level 2 background screening. Because our programs are held at local schools, each school may require its own Level 2 background check through its approved provider. Employment is contingent upon meeting all school clearance requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain active throughout the shift. Ability to safely spot children during gymnastics activities. Ability to lift and carry gymnastics equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors depending on the school's facilities. Employment Information
