Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Chess Instructor to inspire learners of all ages through the strategic and engaging game of chess. In this role, you will deliver dynamic instruction both in person and online, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love for the game. Your enthusiasm for teaching and your ability to connect with students will help cultivate a vibrant learning environment where everyone can thrive. Whether working with children, youth programs, or adult learners, you will play a key role in promoting cognitive development and strategic thinking. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging chess lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere that encourages participation Develop instructional materials such as lesson plans, practice exercises, and game analysis tools to enhance learning experiences Conduct tutoring sessions for individual students or small groups to improve their strategic understanding and gameplay skills Deliver online instruction through virtual platforms, maintaining clear communication and interactive engagement with remote learners Foster a supportive environment that promotes confidence, sportsmanship, and continuous improvement among students Collaborate with program coordinators to organize tournaments, workshops, and youth or adult chess programs that increase community involvement Experience Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills Background in instructional materials development tailored to diverse learning needs and age groups Prior tutoring or coaching experience in chess or related strategic games is highly desirable Experience delivering online instruction using virtual platforms with excellent communication skills Knowledge of adult education principles and experience teaching adult learners or conducting adult education classes Familiarity with youth programs teaching experience, especially in structured learning environments involving children or teenagers Strong understanding of classroom experience combined with the ability to adapt teaching methods for different audiences including foreign language learners or those new to chess Join us as a Chess Instructor and help ignite curiosity, sharpen minds, and build confidence through the timeless game of chess!
