Reports to Program Director (PD) Employment Status Part time, Permanent Job Summary The First Tee Coach is responsible for guiding and coaching young people to become responsible future citizens and committed, active golfers. Positively impacting their lives through the First Tee Program by using lesson plans and the First Tee Coach Building Blocks. Time Commitment Varies depending on scheduled class(es) and season: averages 10-15 hours perweek. Must be able to commit to a full 4 or 8 week program. Roles and Responsibilities Maintain a professional and cordial attitude towards coaches, volunteers, participants and their parents Become proficient in the delivery of First Tee lesson plans Model the First Tee Nine Core Values and the First Tee Code of Conduct Maintain consistent and regular attendance Commence and end scheduled classes on time Conduct First Tee Certification process with youth participants Maintain and organize all equipment storage areas and inform PD of equipment needs Provide PD with accurate participant class attendance records Provide a fun and safe environment at all times Demonstrate exceptional communication skills Be charismatic, personable, and motivational in working with youth Be available to attend coach meetings and training sessions Qualifications Two years' experience in a youth development setting or as a credentialed school educator preferred Two years' experience as a Youth Sports Coach preferred Familiarity with the game of Golf Graduation from an accredited high school recognized by the State required. Bachelor's Degree in the area of sports administration, education, recreation or related field preferred. All candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check.
