Job Description

Camp Educator - Explore Camp Cranbrook Institute of Science's on-site Explore Camps give inquisitive campers the support they need to learn through doing. Campers work together to tackle activities, experiments, and investigations as they explore popular science topics in a unique and safe environment. For more information, please visit our website at 2026 Explore Camps! | Cranbrook Institute of Science Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: This position works with the camp directors to prepare the weekly/daily schedule and activities, guides all programming, manages camper interactions and behavior, and interacts with parents.
Qualifications Required:
Must be at least 18 years old. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Education or a related field is preferred. 2+ years demonstrated experience engaging and managing youth in group activities such as camp, scouts, formal classroom settings, or after school programs. Ability to effectively relate to campers, staff, and parents.
Preferred:
At least 3 years' experience working with children in a camp/group setting.
Timeframe:
Training begins in May; some day camp sessions begin in June; full camp season runs Monday through Friday, July 6th to July 31st with the possible opportunity to extend employment through August and beyond. Typically, an 8-hour day between the hours of 7:30am-6pm. Must be able to work the entire length of camp.
Wage:
$19.00/hour
