DESCRIPTION
The City of Shoreview is looking for motivated, high-energy individuals to provide quality instruction for our in-house recreational tumbling program. We provide paid training, clear lesson plans, and mentorship from day one. No prior instruction experience needed! Our program is designed to teach beginning to intermediate level tumbling and gymnastics skills in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. We offer classes ranging from Toddler & Parent for ages 2-3, Beginner level for ages 3-5, and Intermediate level for ages 5-8. While tumbling skills are emphasized, participants will also learn basic gymnastics skills such as balance beam, bars, and vault. Classes are 45 minutes in length and run on Saturdays between 9:30am
  • 3pm.
Seasonal sessions are scheduled for six weeks each throughout the fall (Sept-Oct), winter (Jan-Feb), and spring (Mar-May) seasons.
DUTIES INCLUDE
Teach various skill levels and ages in tumbling and gymnastics Demonstrate skills, spot basic progressions, and guide children through lesson plans Plan and organize classes so the children remain active throughout the session Communicate clearly and kindly with both the children and parents/guardians Set up, break down, and store equipment as needed Create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for participants Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old CPR/First Aid/AED and concussion training (will be provided) Ability to lift and move 30 pounds
Desired Qualifications:
Ability to provide instruction based on the ability and experience of the participants Current or previous experience in gymnastics/tumbing Desire and ability to work with children OTHER Hours October 2026

Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in an indoor recreation facility. The position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, demonstrating and spotting gymnastics skills, and setting up equipment. Employees work closely with children and parents in an active, fast-paced environment and must maintain a safe, positive, and supportive atmosphere. Weekend hours may be required.
