Job Description

Area:
Bedford, NH Do you have plans for this Summer 2026? Chess Wizards is looking for energetic people to teach chess in summer camps. If you are willing to travel and if you love chess, and feel you can make it fun for kids of all ages, then you have probably found the perfect summer job. We've developed an interactive day-camp format which includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged during their time with us. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and team and individual physical games are just some of the ways we integrate the whole person into our camp activities. A day in Chess Wizards camp might include: Exploration of a technical chess concept. Fun group challenges which hone specific chess thinking patterns. A healthy snack. A mini-tournament. Fun physical activities and camp games, like capture-the-flag and blob tag.
Responsibilities:
Assist our Chess Instructors in teaching chess to campers. Create a safe, supportive, stimulating, and fun environment for campers. Interact with campers, adding to the program by providing supervision for daily activities such as recreational games, and opening/closing Assist in drop-off and pick-up of campers. Assist with daily set up and clean-up of camp. Supervise campers.
Requirements:
Willingness to teach through fun and innovative methods. Must be safety and security conscious. Ability to respond to emergency situations.
Compensation Package:
$600 for 1 week (full time - 30 hours a week) 9am-3pm $300 for 1 week (half day - 15 hours a week) 9am-12pm or 12pm-3pm
Duration:
we held several 1 week camps during summer, you would be invited to participate in more than one if hired in multiple locations.
