East Rutherford, NJ Job Details Part-time $18 - $25 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Youth programs teaching experience Working with students Sports activities for children Gymnastics Teaching experience with young children Teaching Full Job Description The Meadowlands Area YMCA is seeking qualified individuals who will be responsible for teaching our Gymnastics classes. The Gymnastics Instructor will also be responsible for management of participants and the studio or gymnasium. 18+ years of age CPR, First Aid, AED, and child abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire (preferred) Proven experience teaching at least one specialty topic including but not limited to; Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Cheer leading. Willingness to learn additional areas in Gymnastics. At least 1-3 year experience teaching Gymnastics classes to 2yo-10yo children Outgoing, energetic, and engaging Ability to teach students of varying levels within the same class. Ensure the health, safety, and well being of participants in enrichment programs, by providing close supervision of all activities. Be in assigned area with all equipment, when needed. Create an atmosphere where all participants can have fun, are safe and learn. Maintain accurate program documentation (incident, accident and behavior reports, attendance and sign-in / sign-out sheets). Keep immediate supervisor informed of any concerns or problems regarding program participants or facilities. Maintain an organized work space, by taking responsibility for the upkeep of supplies, materials, and program rooms. Regularly communicate with Sports and Recreation Director to discuss lesson plans and activities, to ensure a good working relationship. Communicate to caregivers to promote an understanding of the growth and development of their child. Work cooperatively with professional staff and other departments. Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings and special events. All other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
