Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Aikido Instructor, where your passion for martial arts and dedication to teaching will inspire students of all ages. In this role, you will lead engaging Aikido classes, promote physical fitness, and foster a respectful, disciplined environment. Your expertise will help students develop self-defense skills, improve their coordination, and build confidence through structured training sessions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to share your love of martial arts while making a positive impact on our community. Duties Lead and instruct Aikido classes for diverse age groups, ensuring safety and proper technique. Develop lesson plans that incorporate martial arts fundamentals, physical conditioning, and behavioral management strategies. Demonstrate techniques clearly and provide constructive feedback to enhance student progress. Monitor student engagement and adapt teaching methods to accommodate different skill levels and learning styles. Maintain a safe training environment by enforcing safety protocols, including AED operation and first aid procedures when necessary. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student development and behavior. Organize special events or workshops to promote martial arts awareness and community involvement. Skills Proven experience in martial arts training, particularly Karate or Aikido, with a strong understanding of self-defense techniques. Prior lifeguard experience or swimming skills are advantageous for comprehensive physical education instruction. Experience working with children and managing classroom behavior effectively. Strong communication skills to clearly convey techniques and motivate students. Ability to teach physical education classes with enthusiasm and clarity. Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction, including soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing or gymnastics is a plus. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and child safety are required or highly preferred. Background in sports coaching or team leadership roles demonstrates your ability to foster teamwork and discipline. Experience working in health clubs or gym environments enhances your ability to deliver engaging fitness-focused martial arts classes. $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
