PAY RANGE
$30-$40 PER HOUR (D.O.E.)
JOB SUMMARY
Martial Arts Instructor helps to provide quality karate experience for adult and or youth. Instructor will teach a variety of karate classes with a focus on adults & children ages 5-15 years old. Martial arts knowledge and experience working with children preferred. Karate classes are held at the PC MARC during the week with variable hours.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
Prepare curriculum and progression plans that support long-term skill development Set up, greet participants, provide clear directions for class and clean up after class Helps educate participants on proper and safe karate form. Enforce policies and procedures in activity areas. Provides exceptional customer service before, during, and after each class. Responsible for cleanliness and organization facility space, class equipment; providing light maintenance and reporting of conditions beyond personal capability. Arrive on time, dressed appropriately for the activity, and prepared to teach. Maintain attendance for each class session and submit rosters to supervisor after sessions. Communicate effectively with recreation staff, participants and guardians regarding progress. Communicates clearly with Recreation Program Supervisor regarding schedule, equipment or facility needs or issues.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
Black belt in a recognized karate discipline (or equivalent experience) CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) Certifications in related martial arts disciplines Previous experience teaching in related martial arts disciplines
