Job Description
Instructor Seasonal Position 2026-2027 Timberline Mountain If you love spending time on the snow, enjoy working with others and want to improve your skiing/snowboarding skills, become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor! Timberline Mountain has a great Snow Sports School, with a wide range of dynamic instructors who are friendly, welcoming, and passionate about sharing their stoke for winter sports. Our instructors teach both group and individual lessons for guests of all ability levels (beginners-experts), from age 4 and up. Ski and Snowboard Instructors strive to provide a positive learning atmosphere for guests, using training models developed by
PSIA-AASI.
Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Teach students of all ages and abilities how to ski/snowboard, using techniques and safety information.Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to ensure that guests enjoy their experience.Safety:
Prioritize safety and promote skier/rider responsibility.Problem Solve:
Solve problems effectively, especially in unexpected weather and/or snow conditions.Communication:
Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and supervisors.Professionalism:
Behave professionally and maintain a positive attitude.Continuing Education:
Attend trainings and clinics throughout the season to further develop technical, people, and teaching skills.Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 14 years old by 11/1/2026. No prior instructing experience is required. Instructors should be able to ski/snowboard at an intermediate or higher level. Completion of paid on-snow training, after being hired is required. All employees age 18+ will complete a background check upon hire.Lesson Pay Rate Per Hour:
Non-Certified Instructors:
$17 PSIA-AASI Level 1: $19 PSIA-AASI Level 2: $21 PSIA-AASI Level 3: $23 Instructors are paid only while teaching lessons unless tasked with non-teaching work duties, in which the hourly rate starts at $15 per hour. Employees may receive a pay raise with each year of experience working at Timberline Mountain.PSIA-AASI
dues and event reimbursement can be earned for qualified instructors. Our Snow Sports School is looking to hire approximately 50 new instructors this season.Benefits
