The Field Instructor's primary responsibility for student's learning in the field placement to reinforce the student's identification with the purposes, values, and ethics of the profession of social work; to foster the integration of empirical and practice-based knowledge; and to promote the development of professional skills and competencies (Council on Social Work Education). The Field Instructor is responsible for weekly, reflective supervision with the student to work towards achieving student's learning objectives, goals, competencies, and progress. Individual must posses a MSW (license not required for a minimum of 2 years. Responsibilities 1. Assumes the primary role of instructor and supervisor, and commits to understanding the role of student as learner. 2. Provides support and feedback to student as he/she critically analyzes his/her strengths and areas for student growth and program. 4. Provides a minimum of one hour of scheduled supervisory time weekly to confer and reflect on field assignments. 5. Provides ongoing constructive feedback on the student's performance and completes all written evaluations. 6. Responsible for orienting student to agency procedures, policies, mission, documentation requirements, personnel, safety issues, etc. 7. Consults with SW Field Faculty/Liaison regarding Learning Agreements, performance issues, and integration between field practicum and course work. 8. Completes the SW Field Instructor Training Course. Requirements Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)- post 2 years Available evenings and/or weekends Demonstrates good judgment and has the ability to work independently Possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to work collaboratively with staff, program partners and volunteers Must possess a solid understanding of Social Work practices
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
