Role:
The School of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position. The faculty member in this position will teach in both our
BSW & MSW
programs, including in-person, hybrid, and online courses. We seek a colleague who will contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment and maintain a presence on campus, with a strong commitment to service and active engagement in scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching across the BSW and MSW curricula, including foundational and applied research courses and practice-oriented courses. ‌ Specific responsibilities include: Faculty members are expected to engage in teaching, scholarship, and service while demonstrating commitment to social work values and competencies in alignment with the NASW Code of Ethics and CSWE accreditation standards. Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered courses across the undergraduate and graduate curricula, including in-person, hybrid, and online courses. Engage in service that contributes to the University, the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Social Work, the social work profession, and the larger community (regional, national, and/or global). Contribute to the regular CSWE reaffirmation cycles for the BSW and MSW programs. Actively engage in scholarship activities, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at a national and/or international level.
Education/Qualifications:
Required qualifications: MSW from a CSWE-accredited program. PhD in social work or a related field (ABD considered with confirmed completion date). Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in online and in-person formats.
Preferred qualifications:
Minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience. MSW-level licensure (e.g.
CSW, LCSW, LISW
). Experience teaching foundational and applied research courses. Experience teaching practice-oriented courses. Experience conducting and disseminating scholarly research. Experience with or demonstrated interest in community engagement.
