Job Description
The Springfield College Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work who will also serve as the MSW Program Director to start in Fall 2026. The Department of Social Work at Springfield College fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment, preparing students to be leaders and advocates for social change. Located in Springfield, MA, we offer opportunities to engage with diverse communities and address pressing social issues through teaching, research, and service. Housed in the School of Health Sciences, the Department of Social Work offers BSW and MSW degrees, accredited by CSWE. Within the MSW program, students can complete a 100% online program, or an in-person weekday or evening program. Responsibilities
- Serve as the MSW Program Director, providing leadership and oversight of the program, including curriculum development, CSWE accreditation, student recruitment, and faculty mentoring.
- Work closely with the Practicum Director and Practicum Support Specialist to ensure strong practicum education
- Teach graduate-level social work courses with a focus on policy, research, and related areas, both in-person and online.
- The college subscribes to the Boyer areas of scholarship. Candidates should have an active research agenda (or promise of) in any of the Boyer areas of scholarship that has potential for dissemination beyond the college.
- Mentor and advise MSW students, supporting their academic and professional development.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that reflects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our student population.
- Collaborate with department faculty and university administration to ensure the success of the MSW program.
