Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work Starting date: August 2027 About theposition: Malone University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work. Their primary responsibilities would be in thenew Master's of Social Work (MSW) Program that was launched in the fall semester of 2026. This position may include teaching ground andonline courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. It is a 10-month position. The successful candidate will possess thequalifications necessary to assume primary responsibilities for generalist, clinical, and mental health micro- and mezzo-level social workpractice methods, but may also teach social work research and other macro-level courses as needed. Depending on experience and candidatestrengths and experience, the position may include administrative responsibilities for the programs.
Responsibilities:
Maintain an average teaching load of 27 credit hours per academic year Willingness to teachcourses on campus and online in both the BSW and MSW Programs Review and revise courses Willingness to develop onlinecourses Advise and mentor students Engage in student assessment Work as a team with social work faculty towardcontinued program development Provide support for accreditation Participate in service opportunities at Malone University,within the community, and within the church Engage in scholarly activities, including research, professional publications, national,state, and community peer-reviewed and invited presentations, etc. Integrate Christian faith into coursecurriculum Participate in a Christian Faith Integration course during the second year
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. or DSW is preferred ABD may be considered A minimum of two years of experience in the practice of social work,post-Master's degree LISW eligibility in Ohio is preferred Demonstrated excellence in teaching in higher education;preferably in both the ground and online teaching delivery formats Online course development experience ispreferred Personal commitment to the Christian faith Regular participation in a Christianfellowship/church Willingness to integrate Christian faith into course curriculum Malone University MaloneUniversity is a Christian college for the arts, sciences, and professions, in the liberal arts tradition.
