Adjuncts, Sociology Department (Sociology and Justice Studies) Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Posting Details Classification Information FLSA Exempt Rate Per Credit Hour $1602/credit hour Position Information Position Title Adjuncts, Sociology Department (Sociology and Justice Studies) Department Name Sociology Department Academic or Calendar Year Academic School Name Faculty of Arts and Science Position Overview The Sociology Department is seeking candidates to fill part-time instructor positions. We welcome applications from those qualified to teach introductory, intermediate and advanced courses in Sociology and in Justice Studies. Essential Duties Teach courses as needed at the undergraduate and graduate levels (with PhD), including some combination of courses in the Sociology, Justice Studies, and Aging Studies curriculum. Teach foundational sociology and justice studies courses, such as Introduction to Sociology and Crime and Criminal Justice, theory, or research methods. Occasional Duties Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Sociology department chair. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Experience working with nontraditional students and with an ethnically diverse student population. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate instruction and to mentoring students. Interest in and experience with active and experiential learning. Required Qualifications Masters or Doctoral degree in Sociology, Criminology, Demography or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications Environmental Conditions Teaching/instruction is performed in a traditional classroom setting with possible options for hybrid and very occasional online formats.
