Job Description

This full-time, in-person contract opportunity requires passionate educators committed to helping students with diverse learning needs thrive. As a valued member of our special education faculty, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and support staff to create inclusive and effective learning experiences. Your instructional and advocacy skills will be instrumental in empowering students and fostering their academic and personal growth.
Ideal candidates will possess:
Valid Alaska teaching license with current Type C (Special Education) certification Demonstrated experience in special education instruction, IEP development, and compliance Strong communication and collaboration abilities Commitment to in-person teaching; remote or virtual delivery is not available for this role Genuine dedication to supporting students with varying needs and backgrounds Ability to provide licensure verification and certification documentation Key responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with students IEP goals Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and specialists Maintain accurate records and documentation required for compliance and reporting Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student progress Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and success This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through late May 2027.
