9663247-36203 Job Description Bring your expertise and passion for supporting students with special needs to a dynamic contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher. You'll have the chance to make a genuine impact by working with a manageable caseload of 20 K-6th grade students, helping each achieve their highest potential through individualized attention and instruction. This full-time contract role begins August 12, 2026, and runs through May 18, 2027, offering a consistent 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday. You'll be responsible for managing your caseload, delivering services that align with each student's IEP, writing quality IEPs, and participating actively in meetings to ensure collaborative, student-centered outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Current AL K-6th teaching certification (Active and required) Experience supporting the learning and behavioral needs of elementary-aged students within a special education setting Solid understanding of IEP development, service implementation, and progress monitoring Strong communication and organizational skills Collaborative team mindset and the ability to work closely with students, families, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
