Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Alabama Experience working with school-aged children in a classroom or resource setting Knowledge of assistive technologies, Braille instruction, and individualized education programs (IEPs) Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with visual impairments

Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and consultation for students who are visually impaired, following individualized educational plans Adapt curriculum materials and design learning environments to support accessibility Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to the development of IEP goals Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and strategies are implemented Participate in team meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student progress Perks of the
