The Interventionist will work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify students who need additional support, develop intervention plans, and foster a learning environment that reflects the values and teachings of the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support & Intervention:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students needing academic interventions in core subject areas and develop reading comprehension, math, and writing skills. Assess students' strengths and challenges using data-driven methods to design effective intervention strategies. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly to ensure growth and success. Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations for students with diverse learning needs.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work with faculty and staff to develop and implement Response to Intervention (RtI) or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) processes. Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support. Partner with school counselors to support students with Individualized Service Plans (ISP) or accommodations.
Faith & School Mission Integration:
Model Catholic values and integrate faith into interactions with students and colleagues. Encourage a learning environment that fosters respect, inclusion, and Gospel-centered values. Support students in their holistic formation—academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). Valid teaching license with certification in intervention, special education, or related endorsements. Experience working in intervention, special education, or differentiated instruction at the high school level. Strong understanding of learning differences, instructional strategies, and assessment tools. Commitment to Catholic education and the ability to integrate faith into the learning environment.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze data and implement evidence-based intervention strategies. Familiarity with RtI, MTSS, and differentiated instruction best practices. Experience working in a Catholic school setting.
