Job Description

Empower students with individualized support in a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher working within a leading district office virtual learning program near Pelham, AL. This contract opportunity spans through June 2027, with a flexible part-time schedule of 10 to 20 hours weekly. You'll work onsite at the district office, collaborating closely with the Special Education Director and serving a small caseload of approximately seven studentsall within a cutting-edge virtual school initiative.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 students in special education settings Proven ability to engage and tailor instruction for diverse learners Familiarity with virtual or blended school environments strongly preferred Strong collaboration skills and comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team Effective communication abilities with parents, staff, and district administrators Ability to maintain organized documentation and confidentiality at all times
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized special education programming and instruction to a virtual school caseload Work collaboratively onsite alongside the Special Education Director and district staff to support student success Develop, implement, and track IEPs meeting both student needs and compliance requirements Engage in ongoing communication with students, families, and colleagues to monitor progress and promote engagement Participate in data collection and progress monitoring for each student Support students' social, academic, and behavioral development This role offers a unique balance of professional growth and flexibility, allowing you to work part-time while making an impact on a small group of students in a supportive setting.
