Job Description

In this full-time opportunity, you will serve as a Special Education Teacher, leading an instructional team that supports K-12 students with significant cognitive impairments. This contract role offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of a small caseload of 12 students. Your expertise and dedication will play a vital part in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students with significant cognitive impairments. Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learner needs across K-12 grade levels. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work closely with support staff, families, and administration. Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs). Organizational skills to effectively manage schedules, documentation, and progress monitoring.
Role Highlights:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm. Guide an instructional team focused on supporting each student's academic, social, and behavioral growth. Maintain an engaging, structured classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence. Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to students' unique abilities and learning styles. Partner with other educators and support staff to deliver holistic, evidence-based instruction. Serve as a key communicator with families and guardians regarding student progress and ongoing goals.
