Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing as a dedicated educator in an engaging school environment near Madison, AL. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with educational teams and families to create inclusive, accessible learning experiences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid state certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong skills in sign language (ASL or Signed English) and other communication modalities Understanding of educational modifications and assistive technology for hearing-impaired students Ability to work collaboratively with general education staff and related service providers Compassion, patience, and an enthusiasm for making learning accessible
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction tailored to each student's communication and educational needs Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams Adapt curriculum, provide classroom accommodations, and monitor student progress Advocate for appropriate resources and support for DHH students within the school Act as a liaison between students, teachers, parents, and support staff to enhance student success Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines This contract position offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a difference within the educational setting, supporting students in achieving both academic and personal success.
