Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting students in a forward-thinking virtual learning environment as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact working with a small caseload, while collaborating closely with a dedicated Special Education Director. You'll be based onsite at the district office, supporting approximately seven students in a virtual school program committed to individualized learning and growth.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teaching certification required Experience working with virtual schools or similar remote educational settings preferred Strong skills in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Ability to communicate effectively and advocate for students with diverse needs Proven track record of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Passion for fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver special education instruction and case management to students enrolled in a virtual school program Develop, monitor, and adjust IEPs in partnership with students, families, and other professionals Maintain clear and proactive communication with students, parents, and the Special Education Director Utilize instructional technology to engage students in remote learning environments Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven decisions for program adjustments Participate in collaborative meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week, with consistent support from district leaders.
