JOB GOAL
To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors connected to the Saban Center curriculum, exhibits, and labs.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university (Master's Degree preferred). 2. Alabama State Department of Education Teaching Certification in the area of instructional responsibility required. 3. Must meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1.
Comprehensive knowledge of STEM teaching and learning best practices, including content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment. 2. Knowledge of student academic achievement, growth, and development applicable to the grade level assigned. 3. Knowledge of Saban Center's program of studies related to mission, goals, and organization. 4. Technologically literate and adept at using the latest in tech tools, applications, and platforms, especially in the domain of student counseling and guidance. 5. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional practices and programs. 6. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on Saban Center curriculum and state courses of study. 7. Ability to instruct students of varying abilities and needs. 8. Ability to co-teach and collaborate with other educators, both inside the Saban Center and from outside the organization. 9. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, industry partners, and community stakeholders. 10. Skilled and effective in oral and written communication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads the learning labs and exhibit spaces, where students explore STEM through hands-on experiences. Assess student abilities as related to desired Saban Center and state educational goals, objectives, and student outcomes. Maintain learning lab resources, materials, and equipment to ensure a conducive learning environment and readiness for all programs. Assist in the management of student behavior alongside the classroom teacher and chaperones. Attends staff meetings, applicable professional development, and programs in instruction and curriculum. Performs other assignments as assigned by the supervisor. Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports all absences to the district's absence management system. Reports to work on time and regularly as designated by work schedule (Saban Center schedule may not align with the TCS academic calendar. Saban Center employees will follow Saban Center event schedule, which may include occasional evening hours, weekends, and summer obligations.) Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The terms of employment shall be in accordance with the provisions of the TCS Board's Policy Manual, Students First Act , Saban Center Board Policy , and the TCS Board's Salary Schedule - Teacher. This is a 187 contract day position.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the TCS Board's policy on
