Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract role provides focused, individualized support to K-12 learners, helping them reach their educational goals through tailored instruction aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Be a vital resource for students and collaborate with school teams to foster an inclusive, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator certification Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally across K-12 settings Familiarity with creating, implementing, and tracking IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills Comfortable working one-on-one to provide specialized support and instruction Ability to work onsite and build rapport with both students and faculty
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, individualized instruction to assigned students, following each IEP Work between 1 and 1.5 hours a day, Tuesday through Friday, providing consistency and focused engagement Track student progress and adapt instruction to meet evolving needs Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure an inclusive and effective learning environment Communicate regularly with families and team members about student achievements and strategies for continued growth Enjoy a balanced schedule with rewarding part-time hours, allowing for positive impact and professional growth without the demands of a full classroom load.
