August 31, 2026 ? 40 Hours Per Week ?? 36-Week Contract ? 1 Opening Available Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support young learners in a K-1 Autism Classroom in Avondale, AZ. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact during some of the most important developmental years in a child's educational journey. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students build foundational academic, communication, behavioral, and social-emotional skills while working closely with families, support staff, and school leadership. With a small caseload and dedicated classroom support, this position offers the opportunity to provide individualized instruction and foster student success in a structured, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services. + Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs. + Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers. + Monitor and document student progress toward educational goals. + Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. + Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment. + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. + Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations. + Special Education Teaching Certification preferred and may be required by the district. + Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred. + Current CPR certification, if applicable. + TB questionnaire, PPD , or chest X-ray, if applicable. + Current health certificate, if required. + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Compliance with all professional standards of practice.
