3005090608-2 Apply for this job now Job Description RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students with visual impairments in educational and healthcare-related school settings. In this role, you will conduct functional vision and learning media assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and adapt curriculum and materials using Braille, large print, and assistive technology. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families, provide direct and consultative services, train staff on accessibility tools, and document student progress while advocating for inclusive, person-centered learning environments. Responsibilities Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments Develop and implement IEP goals for students with visual impairments Adapt curriculum and materials into Braille, large print, and accessible formats Integrate and support use of assistive technology and low-vision devices Provide direct instruction in visual skills, Braille, and compensatory skills Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families on student support plans Train school staff on accessibility strategies and tools Monitor, document, and report student progress and outcomes Required Skills Functional vision assessment Learning media assessments IEP development and documentation Braille literacy and instruction Assistive technology for visual impairments Curriculum adaptation and modification Special education compliance Progress monitoring and data collection Family and team collaboration Training and consultation for school staff
