A part-time position is now available for a motivated Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist. This contract role focuses on offering specialized instruction and advocacy for students in a collaborative, inclusive school setting. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is passionate about facilitating communication access and fostering student confidence. Your work will empower students to participate fully in their education.

Desired Qualifications:

Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification) Experience working with school-aged children with hearing loss Skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Familiarity with assistive listening devices and relevant technology Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities Willingness to work on-site and engage with school teams and families

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver tailored lessons for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Assess students' academic and communication needs, documenting progress Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies to include students fully Advocate for accommodations and appropriate resources to optimize learning Facilitate communication between students, families, and school personnel Stay updated on best practices and current educational technology relevant to DHH instruction
