9671132-85648 Job Description Step into a rewarding role supporting students with diverse learning needs as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a collaborative classroom environment. Youll play a key part in shaping educational journeys, working alongside two experienced paraprofessionals to foster tailored growth and achievement. This contract opportunity features a structured schedule: two teaching sessions per day (7:4511:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.3:00 p.m.) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays are reserved for planning, ensuring you have ample time to prepare individualized lesson plans and contribute creative ideas to help every student succeed. Currently, youll be teaching a small groupthree students in the morning session and four in the afternoonwith the potential for gradual increases as the school year progresses and more students are evaluated.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification in Special Education, with a strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) Experience working with students who have a wide range of disabilities and support needs Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams Adaptability and a positive, student-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on students IEPs Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff to maximize student success Maintain ongoing communication with families and related service providers This position offers a consistent schedule, opportunities for professional development, and the rewarding experience of making a meaningful difference in students lives.
