Goodwin Learning Academy is seeking an exceptional Certified Special Education Teacher who is passionate about providing individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. This position serves students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and moderate to severe developmental disabilities through personalized educational programming designed to help every learner reach their highest potential. We are looking for an educator who believes meaningful relationships are the foundation of student success, values individualized instruction, and is dedicated to helping students build academic, functional, communication, and independent living skills in supportive, student-centered environments.

Position Summary:

This role primarily provides individualized, one-on-one instruction in students' homes , with additional opportunities to support students in community-based settings, ABA clinics, and virtual learning environments as needed. Teachers meet students where they learn best, creating engaging, personalized educational experiences that build confidence, independence, and meaningful progress. Teachers collaborate closely with families, therapists, behavior teams, and fellow educators to ensure instruction supports each student's individualized goals and educational needs. Learning extends beyond academics to strengthen communication, executive functioning, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, and functional life skills that support greater independence and long-term success. The ideal candidate is confident working with diverse learning needs and skilled at adapting instruction for students with varying cognitive, behavioral, communication, and adaptive abilities. Candidates should be flexible, compassionate, organized, and creative, with the ability to build strong relationships while maintaining meaningful and appropriately challenging expectations for student growth.

Duties:

Provide individualized special education instruction in students' homes. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to students' individual needs. Collect and maintain accurate progress-monitoring data. Collaborate with parents, related service providers, and school administration. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations. Maintain professional documentation and compliance records. Foster positive relationships with students and families. Support student behavioral, communication, and adaptive skill development. Must be able to deliver instruction in: Reading & Literacy Mathematics Functional Academics Social-Emotional Learning Executive Functioning Skills Communication & Social Skills Development Adaptive and Daily Living Skills, when applicable

Individualized One-on-One Instruction Must-Have Qualifications:

Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate.

Experience working with students with:

Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, & Multiple Disabilities. Strong understanding of IEP/ILP implementation and progress monitoring Knowledge of trauma-informed practices. Experience implementing behavior support plans. CPI or similar crisis intervention training. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to student homes within the West Valley area. Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprint clearance requirements. Why Join GLA?
