9604683-85379 Job Description Make a difference for students who are visually impaired by providing specialized support and instruction throughout the 2026-27 school year. This contract opportunity is perfect for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) ready to travel between campuses in the Phoenix area, with a schedule designed for flexibility and impact. Youll work on-site, collaborate with a supportive team, and touch the lives of students from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Arizona teaching license with a TVI endorsement required Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school-based settings preferred Skilled in developing and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students with visual impairments Strong communication and collaboration abilities Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different campuses as assigned
Responsibilities:
Serve as an itinerant TVI for multiple schools within the district, supporting students ages K-12 Assess students needs and provide instruction in braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and adapted materials Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to develop and implement appropriate accommodations in the classroom Monitor student progress and maintain up-to-date records, adhering to IEP goals and state requirements Offer guidance and professional development to fellow educators regarding best practices for visually impaired learners
