This role involves providing specialized instruction and support to young children with developmental disabilities, including those with autism, speech and language delays, and other learning challenges. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, experience working with children with disabilities, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working within a collaborative educational setting. Duties Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs. Deliver engaging and adaptive lessons in literacy, math, physical education, and other core subjects using curriculum development skills. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and behavior therapy techniques. Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and inform instruction. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support comprehensive child development. Provide early intervention services and support for children with developmental disabilities, including those with autism or hearing impairments such as deaf education needs. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child's development. Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth and child welfare. Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education strategies, and new educational technologies. Experience Prior classroom experience in early childhood or preschool settings is preferred. Demonstrated experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or speech/language impairments. Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and accommodations for students with disabilities. Familiarity with behavior management techniques, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral therapy practices. Experience integrating learning technology into lesson plans for young children. Background in childhood development theories such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and specialists. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs in inclusive classrooms.
