Job Description

Step into a meaningful role as an Elementary Special Education Teacher, focusing on students with mild to moderate support needs. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of children in an inclusive educational setting. You'll collaborate closely with students, families, and a supportive educational team to develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring every child has the foundation to thrive.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid credential in Special Education (mild-moderate or equivalent). Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a special education classroom. Understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and individualized instruction. Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience, creativity, and adaptability in the classroom. Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student's learning goals and accommodations. Develop, implement, and monitor progress toward Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to promote student success. Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements. Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to address diverse learning needs. Foster positive behavioral interventions and support positive social-emotional growth. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulations and best practices.
