Substitute teachers do not dispense medications; they do not perform specialized physical health care procedures; and they do not drive vehicles to transport students. Substitute teachers are required to learn about and support implementation of school-wide systems of behavior, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and/or Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (NCPI); however, they do not utilize restraint procedures. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid California Special Education Credential to teach students with Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) disabilities. Appropriate certification for teaching English Language Learners. It is desired that candidates have experience working with children or adolescents with autism and training with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). All application materials must be submitted with a VCOE application as a complete package.
