Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary students with special needs in a dynamic classroom environment. This full-time position, running through June 3, 2027, involves working on a new, well-resourced Special Day Class designed to provide individualized attention. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team that includes three teaching assistants, managing a capped caseload of 14 students. Your expertise and compassion will help foster an inclusive, supportive learning space as the program grows. The district is focused on ensuring smaller, more manageable classrooms to deliver high-quality support and instruction.
Desired Qualifications:
Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential required (screenshot of current CTC credential must be provided). Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in elementary settings, particularly with small classroom or SDC/SDP models, is highly valued. Strong classroom management and differentiation skills. Excellent communicator who thrives in collaborative, team-oriented environments. Commitment to creating equitable, accessible opportunities for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs. Collaborate closely with assistants and related service providers. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and state regulations. Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture focused on growth and inclusion. Effectively transition students, supporting smooth integration into new classroom settings as needed.
