Company Overview Stars Gymnastics LLC is a vibrant recreational and competitive gymnastics club dedicated to inspiring children through engaging classes in gymnastics, tumbling and trampoline. We foster a fun, safe environment where young athletes can develop their skills and confidence. Stars is now expanding our program to serve children with special needs and are very excited for the opportunity to do so. Job Overview Stars Gymnastics is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly dependable instructor to lead our Movement Adventure and Mind & Motion Adventure classes for children with a variety of developmental and support needs. These classes combine movement, physical activity, learning, coordination, social interaction, and structured play in a positive, encouraging environment. Because children may have varying abilities and levels of support needs, we are looking for someone who is comfortable adapting activities while keeping safety, participation, and each child's individual needs at the center of the class. What We're Looking For The right instructor will be someone who can: Bring a bright, enthusiastic, high-energy presence to every class and make children feel welcomed and excited to participate. Maintain constant awareness of safety while children participate in movement and physical activities. Recognize when a child may be becoming overwhelmed, overstimulated, frustrated, or dysregulated and respond calmly with appropriate coping, redirection, and regulation strategies. Modify activities and expectations when necessary so children with different abilities can participate successfully. Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. Physically participate in and assist with movement activities, obstacle courses, balance and coordination exercises, games, and other activities included in the curriculum. Help children practice skills such as following directions, waiting for a turn, transitioning between activities, interacting with peers, and participating as part of a group. Maintain a structured class while still being patient, flexible, playful, and encouraging. Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and Stars Gymnastics staff. Preferred Background We would especially like to hear from candidates with education, training, or hands-on experience in areas such as: Special Education Occupational Therapy/OTA Adapted Physical Education Child Development Behavioral Support Developmental Disabilities Autism Support Early Childhood Education Therapeutic Recreation Pediatric Movement/Fitness Equivalent experience working directly with children who have developmental or support needs will also be considered. Physical Requirements This is an active teaching position . The instructor must be comfortable moving throughout the gym, getting down to a child's level, demonstrating activities, assisting children with physical tasks, and providing appropriate hands-on assistance for safety when necessary. Most Important to Us Credentials are valuable, but we are also looking for the right personality for these children . We want someone who walks into the gym with a smile, brings positive energy to the room, celebrates small victories, and genuinely enjoys helping children succeed. At the same time, this person must have the maturity and experience to recognize that a child who is overwhelmed may need something very different from a child who simply needs encouragement to keep trying. Safety, patience, adaptability, enthusiasm, and compassion are essential.

$25.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 25.0 per week
