A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and creating a supportive learning environment. Duties Develop and implement individualized education programs for students with special needs Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to support student learning and development Create engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students Manage classroom dynamics and promote a positive learning atmosphere Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure student success Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field Certification in Special Education Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Proficiency in behavior management strategies Strong literacy education skills Knowledge of early childhood education principles Familiarity with toddler care practices Previous experience in a private school setting is a plus Expected hours: 40 per week
