Job Description

Special Education Teacher Dixon Campus - 305 E. C St. Dixon, CA 95620
Job Summary:
Provides instruction, assessment, and program planning for special education students diagnosed with autism in a Non-Public School setting. Monitors and evaluates student progress toward IEP goals and problem behavior reduction. Identifies and develops instructional material and protocols needed for progress toward IEP goals and overall increased student success and independence in a school setting. Utilizes various teaching methodologies to promote learning through a positive programming approach guided by Applied Behavior Analysis teaching methodology. Works collaboratively with entire campus team to foster the best student and team member experience.
Essential Job Functions:
Assess student skills utilizing various assessment tools on an individual basis (DRDP, Brigance, ABLLS, VB-Mapp, HELP and other tools as appropriate). Develop proposed goals, prepare written summary of present levels of performance, and define areas of needs and strengths for presentation at IEP meetings. Teach academic subjects and functional self-help skills, using individualized methods to meet IEP goals and objectives, assist in the education and/or rehabilitation process. Monitor student progress through direct observation, review of data, and probing; adjust procedural protocols or lesson planning to address progress and/or regression. Develop/adapt curriculum to meet individualized goals/needs of each student in the classroom. Assist students with their toileting, feeding, and other personal matters as needed. Plan for special activities, develop materials/lessons to meet the needs of each student Work collaboratively with others including parents, DIS providers and agency representatives. Interact with students using positive reinforcement and the least restrictive techniques to manage behavior, as outlined in behavior plans. Maintain a clean and orderly learning environment. Responds to parent concerns and maintains student confidentiality. Provides professional, efficient, and effective services in all areas of performance. Express and maintain technical knowledge acquired from required in-services trainings, team meetings, and other meetings. Follows all Company policies and procedures, as outlined in Team Member Handbook and other written documents. Performs other duties, as requested.
Education or Training Equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree , required Moderate/Severe Teaching Credential , required or Mild/Moderate Teaching Credentials w/AAAA certificate
