This contract position focuses on teaching an elementary SCSB (Autism) class, where you will foster growth, engagement, and learning for a dynamic group of young learners. Begin as soon as possible and continue through the end of the school year, wrapping up on 6/9/27.

Qualifications & Experience:

Possession of a valid credential for extensive support needs (Special Education Teacher). Demonstrated experience or enthusiasm for working with elementary students, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive, structured environment. Collaborative spirit for working with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families. Adaptability and creativity in implementing individualized education and behavioral strategies.

Responsibilities:

Teach and support an evolving classroom (currently 11 elementary students; enrollment can change). Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on student goals and progress. Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver instruction tailored to students academic, behavioral, and communication needs. Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports both students and their families. Collaborate and consult with school teams to ensure comprehensive student support. Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and provide regular updates to parents and teams.
