A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Woodland Star Charter:
A Public Waldorf School in Glen Ellen, California is looking to hire a teacher for our 7th grade for the 2026-27 school year. We are seeking someone who has Waldorf teacher training and a California teaching credential. However, if those certifications are in process and you are familiar with Waldorf education through your teaching experience, we would love to speak with you. We offer a competitive salary (plus more for Spanish bi-lingual and postgraduate degrees) as well as health, dental, retirement benefits, and a school year calendar designed for sustainable teaching and learning.
