9683050-91205 Job Description Make a meaningful impact in the classroom supporting students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing by teaching grades 6-8 in a dynamic middle school environment. This contract opportunity is onsite and based near Glendale, CA, engaging students in a supportive and collaborative academic setting. Ideal candidates will be adept at instructional and conversational sign language, able to foster an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere for middle schoolers. Youll work alongside a dedicated team, ensuring each students academic and social success.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Education Specialist Instruction credential (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Proficiency in instructional and conversational signing. Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is highly desirable. Committed to fostering a positive, inclusive middle school classroom.
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging lessons to students in grades 6-8, adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs. Utilize sign language to facilitate communication and comprehension in the classroom. Assess student progress, documenting growth and collaborating with colleagues for effective individualized education plans (IEPs). Create a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment, advocating for accessibility and inclusion. Communicate regularly with staff, parents, and related service providers to support students overall development.
