A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who wants to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a supportive school team. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a structured, inclusive classroom and helping students reach their academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a self-contained classroom Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lessons Support students with a range of academic, behavioral, social, and functional needs Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student programming Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and functional skills Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field Valid Arizona teaching certification Experience working with students with varying disabilities preferred Previous self-contained classroom experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to differentiate instruction and meet diverse student needs Compassionate, dependable, flexible, and team-oriented Commitment to helping every student reach their full potential Join BRX Educational Staffing At BRX, you are more than an employee.
