Work closely with students and school staff to develop individualized strategies that help all learners thrive. What you'll bring: Valid certification or credential as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience working with children or adolescents in a school environment Strong understanding of auditory support technology and assistive devices Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for DHH students Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and other service providers Commitment to advocacy, accommodation, and equitable education practices Key responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Consult with classroom teachers about accommodations, accessibility, and best practices for DHH learners Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust interventions as needed Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families to support inclusion Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely fashion This contract position offers valuable experience within a collaborative, dynamic school setting near Hayward, CA.
