This contract opportunity is situated near Huntington Beach, CA, serving a student who spends most of the day communicating in Spanish within a 90% Spanish-immersion program. Youll play a pivotal role in helping this energetic, verbal communicator thrive, guiding positive behavior and fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching credential/certification for General Education Experience working in early childhood or Pre-K educational settings Proficiency in Spanish, comfortable supporting instruction and communication in a bilingual environment Background in behavior management and intervention preferred Ability to remain calm, patient, and focused when navigating challenging behaviors such as elopement and physical aggression Strong collaborative skills, able to work closely with classroom staff, administrators, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide bell-to-bell support daily from 8am 12:30pm, with potential for transition duties at arrival time Implement positive behavior supports and intervention plans, focusing on safety and skill-building Lead and model effective strategies for addressing elopement and physical aggression in a compassionate, developmentally-appropriate manner Facilitate communication in Spanish and English, reinforcing classroom routines and social-emotional learning Collaborate with colleagues to monitor progress, share insights, and adjust approaches as needed Build trust with the student and their family, ensuring smooth transitions at the start of each day This opportunity offers a chance to inspire and empower a young learner while utilizing your expertise in language and behavioral support.
