About Us:
Galileo Growth Learning Development is a private educational practice dedicated to providing individualized academic support for students with diverse learning profiles. We specialize in evidence-based reading intervention, personalized instruction, and educational support tailored to each student's unique strengths and needs. Many of our students receive specialized intervention, have IEPs or diagnosed learning differences, or benefit from targeted instructional strategies that help them access learning with greater confidence and success. We also work with students seeking academic enrichment, designing engaging, challenging learning experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom and foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Our mission is to help every student build the skills, confidence, and independence needed to thrive both academically and beyond.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking passionate and experienced educators to provide 1:1 in-home instruction to elementary and middle school students. Sessions focus on reading intervention and other academic areas aligned with each student's learning goals. Special education teachers are strongly encouraged to apply —many of our students benefit from the expertise of educators trained in accommodations, differentiated instruction, and behavior support.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and personalized 1:1 instruction, primarily in reading, writing, and foundational academic skills Adapt and differentiate instruction to support students with various learning profiles and needs Utilize materials and lesson plans provided, with flexibility to adjust as needed Support students with IEP goals, learning differences, and executive functioning challenges Communicate effectively with the founder and share session updates as needed
Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential (Special Education or General Education) Special Education credential preferred Experience with small group or individualized reading instruction (preferred: Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, or similar approaches) Familiarity with accommodations, modifications, and supporting students with IEPs Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills Reliable transportation to student homes in the South Orange County area
Compensation:
$45-$55 per hour based on your experience and credentials. All materials and structured lesson plans are provided. Flexible scheduling available—take on as many or as few students as you like.
