Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in an in-person setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, visual impairments, and other special needs. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), utilize innovative teaching strategies, and collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to support each student's growth and success. Duties Design and deliver personalized instruction tailored to each student's unique abilities, including curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy, math, social skills, and life skills. Implement evidence-based behavioral therapies and behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and social-emotional development. Adapt instructional materials and classroom activities to meet the needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with educational laws such as IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Conduct assessments and monitor student progress using standardized testing tools; adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Collaborate regularly with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional modifications to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral strategies to foster strong home-school partnerships. Integrate educational technology tools and learning technology platforms to enrich instruction and facilitate accessible learning experiences for all students. Requirements Valid teaching certification in special education or equivalent credentials. Proven experience working with children or students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, or other special needs. Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, instructional modifications, and behavior management strategies. Experience implementing speech therapy techniques, literacy education methods, math instruction adaptations, and early childhood education principles. Familiarity with educational technology integration, applied behavior analysis (ABA), music therapy, recreational therapy, and other therapeutic approaches is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, therapists, and support staff.
