Job Description
Job Purpose The Shop Helper ensures smooth, efficient shop operations by providing essential support in material handling, preparation, equipment upkeep, and facility organization. This role keeps production flowing, minimizes downtime, and upholds safety and quality standards, enabling painters and blasters to focus on high-value coating work while creating a clean, safe, and productive environment. Duties and Responsibilities Clean and organize shop warehouse and yard Load and unload trucks; move materials up to 50 lbs. Clean spray guns, mixers, and blast pots after use Assist with mobing and demobilizing project Perform basic pump and equipment maintenance Organize tools, consumables, and storage areas Manage waste: segregate spent abrasive, oily rags, and filters Restock paint, abrasives, and PPE Conduct basic inventory counts and label materials Wear required PPE (respirator, tyvek, gloves, steel-toes) Follow lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance Understand safety rules and regulations Run errands and pick up small supplies Deliver parts to jobsites
