9683050-90266 Job Description Step into an impactful educational environment near Manhattan Beach, working directly with middle school students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract position focuses on grades 6-8, providing specialized instruction and support to ensure student success and inclusion in the school community. Enjoy consistency with a Monday to Friday schedule, 37 hours per week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., supporting students who truly benefit from your expertise.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university Current Education Specialist Instruction credential (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Proficient instructional and conversational signing skills Commitment to working exclusively onsite with students in grades 68
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction and academic support for deaf or hard of hearing students, modifying curriculum as needed Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages communication and active participation Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress Monitor academic and social-emotional growth, preparing regular updates and student reports Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt strategies to best meet student needs Utilize sign language in classroom settings to enhance learning and engagement This is a meaningful opportunity to create a positive difference each day in a supportive school setting.
